STEPS TO CLEAR SKIN | TIPS for ACNE PRONE SKIN

Hi! What’s up guys? Welcome back to my channel. If you are new here, my name is Ivan. And, yeah if you haven’t subscribed, go ahead and click the subscribe button. Today I’m going to share with you, my healthy skin tips and tricks I guess. Just things I do to keep my skin looking the best it can. Before I start with the video, I want to say a special thank you to iHerb for sponsoring this video. iHerb is a website that carries over seven thousand, bath and body products. They even have K-beauty on there. Shopping on there’s super, super easy. You can filter by category. And, yeah they ship to one hundred and sixty different countries and their customer service has ten different languages. So if you have any troubles, it’s not a problem at all. Don’t forget to check out the products I mention in the description after the video.

So, let’s just get started! So tip number one, I guess it’s sort of a lifestyle thing and, skincare is definitely a lifestyle. And it’s something you have to put effort into. Sleeping early is definitely one way to keep your skin clear. I feel like sleeping early helps my skin the most. I don’t know about you, but in Traditional Chinese medicine acne, and sort of inflammation is caused by heat energy, and it’s a Yi energy. And in Traditional Chinese medicine they say if you sleep early, it replenishes your Yin energy. So it cools down the body, and I believe in that. And the next thing is definitely drink a lot of water.

(Drinking water) I feel like people say that all the time, but don’t really practice it. Especially in the hot summer months, I know I always want to reach for an ice tea, or ice coffee and a drive-thru Starbucks is just really, really tempting. But don’t forget to hydrate with good old water. It just regulates your bodily functions and just helps your skin look as good as it can. Next, you definitely want to change your sheets often. If you suffer breakouts, and stuff like that you want to make sure you constantly wash your sheets. I do it every week. Your sheets and your pillowcases. It’s really, really important because it can harbor bacteria, sweat. And if you have a pet like me, like a pet cat, there’s usually hairs and stuff. And who knows where her paws have been, and she’s just stepped all over my bed.

So I make sure to clean that, and change the sheets. Next up for skincare, you definitely always want to wash your face. And it’s one of the most important things in skincare I feel like, is removing makeup and sunscreen. Even if you don’t wear makeup you really want to make sure you remove all that dirt, and all that sweat and grime, throughout the day. Since it’s summer, it’s easy to get clogged pores and also have breakouts. Just because of how hot, and how sweaty you can get. My basic cleanser is always an oil cleanser first, and then I go in with a regular cleanser. I just find that oil breaks down everything really, really fast and really easy.

I like this one by The Face Shop, and it’s the Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil. It’s super, super lightweight and super easy to emulsify. And I think I heard it from Gothamista, and I just picked it up and I really, really like it. It just dissolves everything. Like, everything. And it washes off so easily. I actually oil cleanse day and night. And on days when I’m just like too tired or, you know you’ve had a long day and you’re just too lazy? I would recommend even, I mean sometimes you just don’t want to cleanse your face. Because it’s like say 2am, and you just got back from your friend’s place or you went out. And you’re just too lazy to clean your skin. I know that feeling but, I really recommend you still clean your skin at least. So, at least have a facial wipe to cleanse your face. Just have it around the restroom or, beside your bed so you can just easily take it off. This one by Simple is a really, really Simple like it says simple, gentle, cleansing wipe. It’s dye-free and, fragrance-free. It’s just a really really simple, easy wet wipe to use.

It takes off all your makeup. And it’s great for days where you also come back from the gym. And you don’t want to wash your face again. And you want a quick, like, wipe. Just, reach for this and you are good to go. I can’t stress again, how important cleansing is for your skin. Once a week, I really recommend everyone exfoliate your skin one way or another. Some people prefer scrubs, some people prefer gommage exfoliators which is when the enzyme like, sort of takes it off. And some people prefer chemical exfoliants. I like gommage and chemical exfoliants.

And chemical exfoliants typically have AHA or BHA in it. For me I like this Pixi Glow Tonic. It has 5% Glycolic Acid and it really just, gently resurfaces the skin. And I think you should do this at least once or twice a week. Especially if you have clogged, prone skin. You really want to get rid of that dead skin. And, sort of resurface the skin. And after using this, it really just does what it says, glow. Every time I use a Glycolic product, it just looks like your skin is just glowy-er the next day. And AHAs are really, really good for treating breakouts as well. So, this is a good product for those who suffer from texture, acne, and a little bit of scarring. This will definitely help reduce that and reduce your future breakouts. The next step should be really, really simple but a lot of people don’t do it. And it is to moisturize your skin. And I like this aloe vera, oil-free moisture cream. Just because it’s very, very lightweight and even in the summertime I can use it. Because it’s not heavy or anything like that.

It feels more like a gel texture. And it is aloe vera, to help calm down the skin and soothe the skin. A lot of people with oily skin think that they don’t need to moisturize, just because their skin is already oily. But it’s actually the other way around. You should always moisturize your skin whether its oily, dry or a combination. The process of moisturizing your skin and hydrating your skin actually rebalances out your skin. Often times, your oily because your skin is overcompensating by producing more sebum production. It’s actually like, thirsty for moisture. And this COSRX aloe vera, oil-free cream is the best thing for that. You can use it day and night, under your makeup. It just soothes the skin and it’s formulated with 87% aloe vera water. So it definitely soothes and calms the skin.

Especially if you’re prone to breakouts and stuff like that. I like it in the summer just because it’s aloe and it helps calm my face. So this is a very solid, simple moisturizer that everyone can use. So, in terms of aging there’s a lot of things you can’t change. Like pollution, and dust, and stress. It’s sort of like, out of our control sometimes. But one thing you can change is definitely protecting your skin from the sun. I prefer mineral sunscreens. Which is physical blockers. And, this one by Coola it’s a really, really nice and matte, tint sunscreen. So it tints into a yellowish, sort of tint. That’s kind of universal and its SPF 30. And this one, oh my gosh, after I used this, it just mattifies my skin instantly. And protects my skin at the same time. Photoaging is something, you can prevent that. Or like, sort of decrease it by using a sunscreen every day. And this will just help protect your skin. It’s interesting like, skincare and self-care is such an important part of our life.

Because, we want to put our best face forward. And if, your face is not the best with, if you’re insecure about it, It will take a toll on your self-esteem which is why I’m so passionate about taking care of my skin. And I really believe that these tips really, really help. So… I used to suffer from acne myself, a couple of years ago. And, this is how I looked like. And I wish I had known these tips I guess, to help my skin. So, I’m just sharing my tips with you And I hope so far you like it! Next up, It’s definitely makeup brushes. So we all… those of you that apply makeup definitely want to keep your brushes clean. And, not only does the pigmentation blend better when you have, clean brushes~. But, it just feels nicer on the skin.

And it’s such a satisfying feeling to see all that dirt and grime, come off the brush. And, it’s just nice. I’ve been loving this EcoTools Makeup Brush Shampoo And, anybody that’s used this can attest to how amazing this little thing is. Pour it into a bowl with lukewarm water, and I use a tablespoon or two of this and mix it up. And every time I dip the brush in, I just sort of, clean it off on my hand.

And you can see all the foundation and bronzer and yucky stuff comes out. And I just rinse it with lukewarm water. And who knows what the brush has harbored in terms of bacteria, your sweat, my cat sits on it sometimes. So you want to make sure your brushes are always clean. And, I do this about once a week. So you should too. Definitely. If you’re acne-prone just avoid touching your face too much. I know sometimes you want to lean your hand like this. Or, sort of pick on your face or scratch your face. Try not to touch your face too much. And if you do, definitely wash your hands beforehand. And it’s very, very important to wash your hands. I feel like It should be common knowledge that everybody washes their hands after doing something. But, sometimes common knowledge is not too common. So make sure you wash your hands.

And, who knows where your hands have been you touch your keyboard, door handles, money even has been like transferred so many times. And I also tend to wipe down my, my iPhone screen with a disinfecting wipe. Just so when I put it next to my face, you know there’s no bacteria. So, when you’re acne-prone I feel like these things just come naturally. And you just want to like stay as clean as possible when it comes to your skin. And the last tip I have for you is, be knowledgeable and adventurous with your skincare. Not adventurous in the way that like you, try everything. But, try things that, after you’ve done your research, or read your reviews. Try those products, because you never know the next product might be the one to help your skin. For me, It’s been like, the Centella asiatica products have been sort of a life-saver for my skin. And I started reading more about it, and reading reviews. Just because I wanted to know how to improve my skin.

And I just wanted it to stop breaking out as much. I love, I’ve said this so much because I really do love this product from COSRX. It’s the Centella Blemish Ampule. And, after reading so much research about the benefits of Centella asiatica to the skin I just incorporated a lot of it into my routine. And, it’s said to soothe burns, soothe irritation and calm inflammation. So it’s really, really great for those with reactive skin or sensitive skin. And this one is fragrance free. Contains Hyaluronic Acid to moisturize your skin. Also contains Allantoin which is an anti-inflammatory agent. And I use this day and night. And it’s been in my staple for such a long time that, if they discontinue this I will be really, really sad. (Sniff) Alright! So, that is it for my healthy skin tips. If you have any additional tips to… add to the arsenal of tips or whatever in your lifestyle. Please leave it down in the comments below! And don’t forget to check these products out in the description. Thank you guys so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed this video and learned something. And I hope you implement some of these tips.

I’ll see you guys in my future videos! Bye~~ .
