SALAD

1. 3 pounds romaine lettuce.
2. 2 pounds bib or Boston head lettuce.
3. 1 pound bacon, cut into 1 inch squares.
4. 50 anchovy filets.
5. 1-quart croutons (toasted or fried bread cubes).
6. 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
7. 8 eggs, coddled.
8. 1 teaspoon garlic, minced.

DRESSING

1. 3 cups salad oil.
2. 1/4 cup oil from anchovies.
